Triple glazed softwood timber
windows manufactured by Bayer of Germany as a certified
Passivhaus window manufacturer. U-values of 0.7 for glazing,
and whole unit U-value of 0.8. Senior executives from this
company travelled to Ebbw Vale to oversee the installation and
conducted an educational work-shop on the process of
manufacture and installation to contractors and design team.
This knowledge along with industry expertise available in the
UK and with huge involvement from the BRE and Wood Knowledge
Wales has resulted in a compliant window specification on the
2 bedroom house (The Lime House) where the windows are sourced
from Welsh manufacturers.
