Competition
On 16th April 2012 our competition winners moved into Lime and Larch. For the next 12 months they will take part in a monitoring project to measure the performance of these eco-homes. You can follow progress on the Green House blog:

Background on the competition
United Welsh and its partners have teamed up in February 2012 to provide the opportunity for two families to live in a house of the future for 12 months - absolutely rent free!

The two homes (Larch and Lime) were showcased at the 2010 National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale. The Larch in-particular is the first zero-carbon Passivhaus in the UK.

The competition was open to anyone living in Blaenau Gwent, or with a connection to the area.

The competition was run to determine how well these houses perform whilst they are occupied. We'll be monitoring a range of factors including heating efficiency and fuel bills. All this information will feed into decisions around social house design in the future.

PLEASE NOTE THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED
