What is Housing
with Care?
Housing with Care, often known as Extra Care, is a relatively
new housing option for older people. It provides independent and
secure housing; it is not a residential care home, or a nursing
home. Individual apartments are spacious and the schemes provide
a range of other facilities which combine to make living there a
long term option for independence.
What is Plas
Hyfryd?
Plas Hyfryd is a brand new Housing with Care scheme based in
Caerphilly. The scheme was completed in December 2010 and now provides top quality accommodation for older people. To
support residents, care staff are based on site. Any tenant
entitled to care will be provided with this care on site as
outlined in their care plan. United Welsh staff will also be on
site daily to help with any issues residents may have.
