Caerphilly

Caerphilly town's history started nearly two thousand years ago when the Romans built a fort here in AD75. Caerphilly Castle was built from 1268 and the town as a settlement started to take shape.

In the nineteenth century the Industrial Revolution swept into Caerphilly with many coal mines opening in the surrounding areas. It has established itself as the main town of the valley.

There are many schools, churches, shops and leisure facilities in the town, and it has thriving rugby club. Its transport links are superb with a rail link to Cardiff and road links making it close to the A470 and 5 minutes from the M4.
