'You Said, We did' - Starter Tenancies
We are pleased to announce that from 1^st April 2010 United Welsh will be issuing ‘Starter Tenancies’ to all new tenants*.  This new procedure has been introduced in response to feedback from tenants and residents, and demonstrates our commitment to listen, and act upon, suggestions made by our customers.

‘A Starter Tenancy’ enables United Welsh to monitor a new tenancy for a ‘trial’ period of 12 months.  This gives new tenants the opportunity to demonstrate that they can meet the terms of their tenancy agreement and settle successfully into their local community. 

United Welsh is able to end a Starter Tenancy without the need to attend court if we feel that a new tenant has been unable to meet the commitments of their tenancy agreement during the first 12 months of the tenancy.  We hope that we will not need to do this, and that all our new customers will become full Assured tenants following successful completion of their trial period.

*This will not apply to anyone who was an Assured or Secure tenant of any housing association or local authority immediately prior to being housed with us.
