Can 'Do' volunteering

The property team at United Welsh recently took a break from the office and embarked on a clean-up project at a housing scheme in North Cardiff. The work is part of a volunteering scheme run at United Welsh where employees can volunteer to support projects within our local communities.

Starting first thing in the morning the Property Team cleared the garden of rubbish and over-grown shrubbery. They then planted new flower beds and even built a barbeque. Only stopping once for 'Pie and Chips' the team worked flat out to get the job done. It's safe to say the tenants were delighted with the results.

One of the biggest resources we bring to doing good in our communities is the commitment, energy, skills and experience of our people. This scheme should unlock all this talent and contribute to good causes and community projects. Work can include fund raising, school mentoring, environmental projects, sports coaching, helping out our partners, estate projects/road shows and other tenant events. The initiative has been received positively by United Welsh staff with individuals and teams taking up the challenge!

Over the coming months we hope to see more employees of United Welsh volunteering to help local projects that will make a real difference to our communities.
