United Welsh has once again been awarded 1st Place in the annual 'Caerphilly in Bloom' competition for the Best High Street Premises 2009. Against some tough competition the flower display outside our head office in Castle Street, Caerphilly came out on top.

Each year Caerphilly County Borough Council hold the competition. Caerphilly is transformed with many high street premises and residential areas getting involved.

The success of the United Welsh display is down to the hard work and dedication of Charles Larcombe. Charles has completely transformed the flower displays turning the building into the pride of the town. Each year the display gets bigger and better with the people of Caerphilly really appreciating the hard work.

Charles said: "Obviously doing well in the competition is great news but even more satisfying is the way that the garden seems to lift people's spirits as they walk past. The comments of support from members of the public have been really encouraging."

For his efforts over the past 3 years Charles has also been awarded a presidential award by United Welsh. This is a recognition award for employees who go that extra mile to provide a special service - Well done Charles!
