Tenant Fun Day 2012

Nearly five hundred tenants attended the sixth annual United Welsh tenant fun day which took place at St Cenydd Leisure Centre in Caerphilly.

Dozens of activities including soccer skills, a petting zoo, a football competition,  belly dancing and hula-hooping classes, a climbing wall, powershot football competition, barbeque, face painting, a ‘Big Brother Diary room’, and X-Box competitions took place in and around  the leisure centre.

The day is a chance for the tenants and residents to get together to discuss and celebrate their communities, learn about United Welsh projects, find out about volunteering and community group opportunities and spend time with their families and neighbours. It is also an opportunity for partners and other stakeholders to get involved ; Gofal, SMK and Kier all taking part in a football tournament and the Rural Regeneration unit attended explaining the benefits of food cooperatives.

In the historic year of the Diamond Jubilee and London 2012 staff of the organisation delivered a fun day which focused on sharing good work going on in its neighbourhoods and communities run by the community and how United Welsh can support such work.

Feedback on neighbourhoods and communities were taken in the Big Brother Diary room and collected in handprints all around the sports hall will help guide the organisations key projects such as the Estate Improvement Projects.
