Planned Maintenance

As an organisation we are committed to providing quality housing for all our tenants. Every year we spend approximately £3m on improving homes.

United Welsh has a programme of planned maintenance to ensure that all our properties are kept in good condition. The maintenance work includes some of the following:

  • Cyclical decorating
  • Kitchen renewals
  • Heating replacement
  • Window & door renewals

To view the planned maintenance programme for the next two years click here (3mb, .pdf format).

The planned maintenance programme is continuous, however there are specific targets that we are required to meet as a social housing landlord.

Meeting the Welsh Housing Quality Standard

The Welsh Assembly Government has set a minimum standard for the condition of all housing association properties in Wales. These standards cover the general condition of a property as well as specific items such as kitchens and bathrooms, energy efficiency, security and estate management. All housing associations and local authorities must bring their properties up to this standard by 2012. It is called the Welsh Housing Quality Standard and it will ensure that everyone has a decent home to live in. United Welsh is committed to ensuring that all our properties meet this standard.

You can find out more about the Welsh Housing Quality Standard on the Welsh Assembly Government website – http://www.wales.gov.uk/housing
