Bargoed Health Centre

This development was completed in the Winter 2008. The building had been the Job Centre and has now received a complete makeover. Architects Davies, Llewelyn & Jones designed it to include increased glazing on the south facing elevation and complete recladding of the exterior. The new cladding will not only provide a weather-proof exterior, but it has also given this Seventies building a modern, clean image suitable for the new Health Centre.

The £1.6m project received funding from the 'Heads of the Valleys' initiative (£1.1m). It is a 'striking' development providing an excellent location for medical services to be delivered for the people of Bargoed.

The project has been a real partnership effort between United Welsh, Welsh Assembly Government, Caerphilly County Borough Council, and Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust.

The lease has been signed between United Welsh and the Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust and the handover took place in December 2008.
